Walking a dog is one of the most wonderful experiences for both the furry fellow and the owner. While the sounds, colors, and textures provide the ultimate mental stimulation for a dog, for a human, there’s no better way to relax and calm the mind.
However, surprises can often arise during these walks, sometimes negative, but other times, delightfully positive.
Kayleigh Tonkins experienced one such surprise when, during a routine walk with her dog, she noticed a tiny fellow staring at her from a ditch. Curious and intrigued, she moved closer and couldn’t believe what she found.

In a TikTok video posted on her account, @kayleightonkins, Kayleigh revealed that the animal she encountered was a Shetland pony. She was absolutely stunned by his appearance.
“What are you doing there?” Tonkins exclaimed in the video. “Is this a real animal?”
The tiny fellow, initially confused, soon approached Tonkins on his own. It was then that she was truly shocked.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so small,” she remarked.
After pulling him out of the ditch, Tonkins marveled at his diminutive size, especially when she realized he was even smaller than her dog. Despite her confusion, she knew she had to act quickly. Believing the pony was abandoned, Tonkins decided to bring him home and figure out what to do next.
Beloved Family Member

Tonkins felt a deep sense of pride and happiness for rescuing the poor animal. However, she was still concerned about his future, unsure of where he belonged.
Determined not to give up on him easily, she took proactive steps.
“After rescuing him from the forest, I went for a drive and knocked on doors in the area,” Tonkins shared in a follow-up TikTok video.
Her persistence paid off when she discovered that the pony, named Tommy, had an owner and was a beloved family member. This revelation filled Tonkins with joy, almost over the moon.
Although she was sad to say goodbye to her cute little pony, she had no idea how soon they would meet again.
Heartwarming Reunion and a Pleasant Surprise

A few weeks later, during another walk in nature, Tonkins experienced a remarkable déjà vu. As she passed by the forest, she heard some rustling. Looking closer, she saw her old friend, Tommy. But this time, Tommy wasn’t alone—he had brought a friend with him.
Tonkins was once again stunned by the sight of the pony, but her heart swelled with immense joy at seeing her old friend.
She was delighted to discover that a simple walk with a dog could lead to an unexpected, lasting friendship.
Indeed, animals are simply amazing.
