Everyone knows that puppies have a special bond with little kids. They share a love for playtime and naps, both discovering the world around them one day at a time. However, like humans, puppies need their moms before they can explore with friends. Sadly, this wasn’t the case for Panda.
Meet Panda

Panda, a two-month-old Africanis mix, was handed over to some local kids by a stranger. The mother of one of these children realized Panda was far too young to be away from her mother. She reached out to Sidewalk Specials, a dedicated dog rescue and mass sterilization unit. Despite her efforts to care for Panda, she knew she couldn’t provide the necessary care alone.
Fortunately, she called the right people. The Sidewalk Specials team sprang into action, determined to ensure Panda would grow up strong and healthy. They immediately fed her a bottle of milk to soothe her hungry belly and took her to the vet for a vital checkup.

The vet discovered Panda was severely malnourished and suffering from Biliary, a parasite-induced disease. Panda needs to stay under constant veterinary care for a while to recover fully. Once she’s back to health, she will need a loving forever home.
If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet girl, please contact Sidewalk Specials for more information.
Puppies And Their Moms

Ideally, newborn puppies should stay with their moms until they are at least 8 weeks old. This time with their mother is crucial for their health and development. They learn essential social skills and proper behavior from their mom and siblings.
Their mother’s milk is a powerhouse of nutrients and antibodies, helping puppies develop a robust immune system. Staying with their mom also significantly reduces stress and anxiety, providing a sense of security that is vital for a stable temperament.
Early separation from their mother can lead to issues such as aggression, anxiety, and difficulties in socializing with humans and other dogs. It can also cause serious long-term health problems. Ensuring puppies stay with their mom until they are ready to leave can make a world of difference in their development and overall well-being.
