This story hails from California, where a tiny, one-year-old pup was on the brink of a grim fate. Emaciated and severely neglected, little Reese found herself in an overcrowded shelter, just days away from being euthanized.

Reese was utterly despondent after being taken to the shelter. Confused and terrified of everyone and everything, she yearned for a touch of kindness. Her wish came true thanks to the big-hearted folks at Wags and Walks Rescue in Los Angeles, California!
Rescued at the eleventh hour from a shelter that lacked the resources to care for her numerous medical issues, Reese’s transformation began. Despite being only a year old, she looked like a senior dog who had endured a lifetime of hardship. Advanced mange had left her with open wounds all over her body. Additionally, she suffered from an infected puncture wound in her eye from a bite and was severely underweight.
“At just 1-year-old, Reese has suffered unthinkable neglect. She is skin and bones, has painful, advanced mange and infections,” W&W shared in an emotional Instagram post.
Her rescuers were heartbroken to see Reese in such a dire state. It was clear she had never known the gentle touch of a human. Determined to change her life, the team found the perfect foster home for her.

Walker and Rebecca welcomed Reese with open hearts! Thanks to the generous community that funded her recovery, this resilient girl improved rapidly.
“She is safe with us now and we’re thrilled to share that she’s healing quickly, gaining weight, and on the road to a full recovery! We are beyond grateful for this incredible community’s support and Reese’s amazing foster family,” the rescue announced on Instagram.
But the real surprise came when Reese began to show her personality! She unexpectedly became a fashion sensation, dazzling everyone as the cutest PJ’s model ever!
Initially, the PJ’s were part of her recovery, protecting her healing fur. But Reese’s chic appearance turned heads, and her foster parents, Rebecca and Walker, ensured she always had stylish outfits.
Beyond her fashionable attire, Reese became the sweetest cuddler, loving to snuggle up on her foster parents’ laps, enjoying the affection she had missed out on before.

A few months later, Reese received the greatest gift of all – a forever home! A wonderful family reached out to W&W, eager to give her a permanent, loving home.
The rescue shared this joyous news with Reese’s growing community on Instagram: “Tonight she’s in her forever home with an amazing, loving family who loves her as much as she deserves to be.”
Reese now lives her best life with her new family, including a doggie sibling who adores her. She enjoys many adventures without ever fearing abandonment again.
And the best part? She still gets to wear her adorable outfits!
