Witnessing a family of abandoned dogs on the street is heartbreaking. Left with only each other, many end up in dire situations, lacking basic necessities.

This touching tale unfolds in Southern California, where three puppies were discarded near Magic Johnson Park in Los Angeles. Huddled together on the sidewalk, they wouldn’t leave the last place they saw their family.

Their situation seemed hopeless until a group of dedicated rescuers received a call that changed everything for the better!

Local residents spotted three canines—a female dog and her two brothers—standing close together. According to witnesses, the pups were abandoned by their family, who dumped them from a car and drove away.

Initially, the trio refused to leave the sidewalk, hoping for the car to return. But no one ever came back. As the temperature rose, they sought shelter under a nearby car, still sticking closely together, providing each other with comfort and protection.

Neighbors contacted Suzette Hall from Logan’s Legacy rescue in Irvine, California. Though unable to drive to the location herself, Suzette sent two colleagues who found the puppies exactly where they were told they’d be.

Covered in ticks and with matted fur, the dogs were in terrible condition, urgently needing help.

“Dumped at a park together. Covered in ticks, matted so bad they couldn’t even poop, and tons of creepy-crawling ticks. They stayed right where they were left, and stuck together,” Suzette shared on Facebook.

Usually, Hall and her team use a humane trap to lure dogs into a van. But this time, the female dog approached her rescuers willingly after being offered food, with her brothers following closely behind.

“These sweet babies will never, ever have to wait again. They are rescued.”

Even in the van, the trio remained inseparable, sticking close to each other throughout the ride to a volunteer’s home.

Waiting for a Forever Home

At their temporary home, volunteer Arturo Flores spent two hours shaving them to remove the ticks. Though a complex process, it significantly improved their condition.

Named Damien, Polly, and Barkley, these pups were unique because of the extraordinary bond they shared. Even after being rescued, they refused to separate, which is uncommon for other dogs.

Suzette hopes that when adoption time comes, they will find a forever home together. Until then, they will continue to spend all their time together, just as they did on the streets, guarding and comforting each other.
