Hope Fades Away

Powers faced one of the most challenging periods of her life after Loki disappeared. She scoured every possible place, posting on social media, PetSmart, lost animal websites, Pet Finder, and Craigslist. But no trace of Loki surfaced.
“As soon as I got home, I searched high and low, posted on all social media platforms—PetSmart, lost animals, Pet Finder, Craigslist—all the things I could possibly think of, all with no luck!” Powers wrote on Facebook.
Each passing day dimmed the hope of finding Loki. Eventually, Powers resigned herself to the painful belief that she might never see him again. Then, a phone call changed everything!
A Heartwarming Reunion

The compassionate team at Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, Indiana, brought incredible news to Powers and her family. Loki, who had escaped from his caretaker, was found and brought to their facility. A scan for a microchip led to the joyous discovery—Loki had a chip, and it pointed straight back to his home!
The team quickly contacted Loki’s original owner, setting the stage for one of the most emotional reunions ever.
“We were able to contact his owner and found out she had been missing him for almost 2 years. She couldn’t contain her excitement that we had her baby,” FWACC wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post.

Powers was overwhelmed with disbelief and joy upon hearing the news. After all this time, she was finally going to be reunited with her boy. It was nothing short of a miracle!
“After searching endlessly for him, I kinda lost hope. Until I got the phone call yesterday that they found my boy. I can’t begin to explain the overflow of emotions I am going through,” she shared in another post.
Upon arriving at the shelter, Powers watched as the caregivers brought Loki out on a leash. It took only moments for Loki to recognize his momma, and his exuberant reaction—full of joyful jumps and infectious energy—moved everyone to tears.
There she was, his momma, after all this time!
Powers and Loki spent the next minutes embracing and kissing, making up for the two long years they had been apart. They were finally together again and vowed never to be separated.
A New Beginning

After their heartwarming reunion, Powers and Loki returned home, ready to start a new chapter together. It took Loki a few days to readjust to his old surroundings, but soon he was back to his happy self.
Now, Powers and Loki are excited to embark on new adventures, this time side by side. Their bond, tested by time and distance, is stronger than ever, and their future is bright with endless possibilities.
