Unfortunately, not all dog owners share this sentiment. Some heartless individuals abandon their pets, leaving them to fend for themselves. This was the case for Indigo, a tiny puppy cruelly cast aside by her owners. Only a few days old, Indigo was cruelly separated from her mother’s tender embrace.
Her heartless owners placed her in a cardboard box and discarded her on the streets under the cover of night. Alone and terrified, the little furball cried incessantly, longing for the comfort and warmth of her mom’s cuddles.
A Beacon of Hope

The following morning, a compassionate Good Samaritan discovered Indigo. Hearing her distressing cries, the woman’s heart ached. The newborn puppy desperately needed her mother’s care.
Immediately, the woman contacted the local shelter, and rescuers swiftly came to Indigo’s aid. She was taken into a foster home, where she received the care she so desperately needed. The tiny pup, exhausted and weak from the night alone, was bottle-fed and carefully nurtured.
It wasn’t long before her foster mom noticed something troubling: Indigo appeared to have cataracts. The realization that this eye condition might have been the reason for her abandonment saddened her deeply. The little puppy, still yearning for her mother, struggled to find solace.

Worry grew when Indigo developed diarrhea. Her foster mom sought veterinary help, and with the prescribed medication, the puppy began to improve and finally fell asleep, finding comfort in her new surroundings. Her own dog, Stefani, watched over Indigo, ensuring she was safe and undisturbed. This tender care from Stefani warmed her foster mom’s heart, seeing him so protective of the tiny newcomer.
Wrapped snugly in a blanket, Indigo’s diarrhea subsided, bringing relief to her foster mom. As she gently stroked the little puppy, she felt a sense of peace, knowing Indigo was finally in safe hands. Stefani remained vigilant, especially while Indigo slept, his presence a comforting reassurance.
A New Beginning

Named Indigo by her foster mom, the puppy soon found joy in playing with her new toys and rolling around in her bed. As days passed, Indigo thrived and grew stronger. By twenty days old, she was able to eat on her own.
Despite her progress, concerns remained about her vision. A specialist advised that surgery wouldn’t benefit Indigo, but with medication, her sight could improve. Indigo’s foster mom diligently administered her medicine, and soon, it was clear that it was working. Watching Indigo’s vision improve filled her with immense joy.
