Found In Difficult Circumstances

When kind passersby found Sadie lying on top of a pile of trash in a dumpster, they were stunned. How did she end up here? Could someone be so cruel as to throw her away like garbage? And how long had she endured these harsh conditions? These questions filled their minds as they saw her curled up and helpless.
Fortunately, the Cumberland County Animal Services (CCAS) team in North Carolina intervened and offered Sadie temporary refuge. But when they learned the real reason behind her abandonment, they were heartbroken.
Her owner had discarded Sadie because she had an accident indoors and bit him after being physically punished.

“Sadie had an accident in the house and bit her owner after being disciplined. Following the incident, the owner threw her in the dumpster. She is now in danger of being euthanized. We really want to see this girl find her forever home,” CCAS shared on Facebook.
After being rescued, Sadie underwent a vet exam. She was found to have an upper respiratory infection that required medical treatment. Other than that, she had no other issues, which was a true miracle given her circumstances.
To prevent Sadie from being unjustifiably euthanized in the shelter, the CCAS team searched high and low for a new opportunity. The shelter environment added to Sadie’s trauma, and the team urgently sought a solution. She deserved a second chance and someone to focus on her needs. Fortunately, their efforts soon bore fruit!
She Is A Sweet, Loving Girl

Victoria McGonigal, the owner of Dochas n Gra Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Chesterfield, South Carolina, heard Sadie’s story and acted immediately. Sadie (now named Sydney) found a loving home with the rescue, and she couldn’t be happier. Most importantly, her true personality finally emerged from beneath the trauma she had endured.
Within just a few weeks of tender loving care and socialization with other dogs, Sydney transformed into the sweetest lovebug.

Sydney is now making up for lost time. Every day, she finds new ways to spice up her life and embark on exciting adventures. Her playful personality has truly blossomed, and she now lives life completely carefree. The best part is that she gets to explore the sanctuary and meet horses, cows, and goats daily. Additionally, Sydney bonds with other dogs and forms lasting friendships.
She has her very own little world there, and she enjoys every second of it!
