Abandoning a dog is a truly horrible thing to do, especially when they are really young. But what’s even worse is leaving them to starve. A young puppy on the streets has slim chances of survival, making it almost certain they won’t make it without help.
However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Transferring them to a shelter gives them another chance and brings joy to someone willing to care for them. This particular puppy, abandoned on a highway, was at high risk of being hit by a car. But then, his luck changed for the better.
A Puppy in the Box

A taxi driver, driving down the highway, noticed a box in the middle of the road and felt something was wrong. He stopped, got out, and went to inspect it. To his shock, inside the box was a small puppy.
The man quickly called rescuers, who arrived promptly. They found the puppy struggling to get out of the box and noticed something was wrong with his neck. Realizing he needed immediate medical attention, they rushed him to the nearest pet hospital.
At the hospital, the vets fed him as he couldn’t eat on his own. After an examination, they discovered the puppy had a twisted neck due to an injury and joint problems. Despite this, he had no other major health issues.
A Long Treatment

The vets started his treatment right away. With time and care, the sweet puppy began to slowly turn his neck. It wasn’t much, but it was progress, and that meant everything. His weight increased, indicating his diet was working.
Every vet was incredibly proud of the puppy’s progress. His confidence grew, and he regained much of his strength. He became more playful, although the rescuers ensured he didn’t overexert himself. His neck almost completely recovered.

Before discharging him from the clinic, the veterinarians performed one final check to ensure he was healthy. One of the rescuers who decided to care for him took him in immediately. It took a while for the puppy to adapt, but he’s doing much better now.
The puppy now has another dog sibling and loves to play all the time. He’s grateful for this new chance at life. Months later, the once abandoned puppy became almost unrecognizable—he had grown so much and was thoroughly enjoying his new life.
