For California animal control officer Rudy Pina, this is the code he lives by. With years of experience, Rudy has witnessed some truly shocking scenarios, including dogs being left behind in the most unexpected places.
One day, he received a call from a local motel in Fresno. During their routine rounds, a housekeeper stumbled upon a heartbreaking surprise hidden in one of the rooms – a puppy!
Hiding Behind a Bed

No one knows exactly how long this sweet, innocent-looking Pittie pup had been in the room. Abandoned by his owner, the little guy waited patiently for his human to return.
Sadly, that day never came, and the pup was left stuck between two beds in a room with no food or water.
When Rudy finally arrived, the pup cautiously peeked out from behind the bed. Frightened by the sight of a stranger, he quickly hid under the bed. But as Rudy softly called out to him, the pup began to realize he was about to be rescued.
In just a few moments, the pup fully relaxed around Rudy. Before long, he even rolled onto his back, begging for belly rubs, as if they had been best friends forever.
Rudy and the abandoned pup spent some time bonding through sweet cuddles. Then, the officer gently scooped him up and placed him in the kennel at the back of his car.
Searching for a Forever Home

As the pup and his rescuer made their way to the Fresno Animal Center, their first ride together was nothing short of spectacular!
Though initially placed in a kennel, the pup soon found himself riding in the passenger seat! The bond between them grew quickly, and Rudy wanted to ensure the pup felt as comfortable and safe as possible.
Upon arriving at the rescue center, the puppy received the care he so desperately needed.
Rudy describes the motel Pittie as a super friendly and happy-go-lucky dog.
“Puppy abandoned at Motel6 on Blackstone in Fresno. Super handsome, VERY friendly Pitty. He is currently at the @Fresno Animal Center waiting for his forever home,” Rudy shared on TikTok.
Until someone steps up to adopt or foster, the puppy will remain in the facility’s care. However, with his adorable personality and sweet nature, this little guy definitely deserves more than to grow up in a shelter.
“Please reach out to the shelter if you’re interested in fostering, adopting, or know of a rescue! He’s a young pup and doesn’t deserve to spend his life in the shelter,” Rudy added.
Hopefully, the pup’s forever family is just around the corner, ready to welcome him into a loving home.
