In all my years surrounded by dogs, I’ve discovered that therapy dogs are the sweetest and most empathetic companions. They are trained to comfort humans in need, but their kindness extends beyond just us. Often, you will find them helping other animals and providing support.

In this story, we talk about a brave therapy dog who made a surprising discovery in the woods, leaving his owner stunned.

For most of his life, Banner was a therapy dog from Georgia, offering help to those who needed it most. He had been with his owner, Whitney Braley, for a long time, helping her during her PTSD episodes and anxiety attacks. From the beginning, she knew he was a gentle soul who wanted to be by his best friend’s side.

One fateful day, Banner was strolling in the woods near his house. During his walk, he noticed something strange and rushed back to Whitney. Unsure of what he wanted, it seemed like he was pleading with her to follow him.

Together, they ventured into the forest, where Banner led her to a sealed plastic box with something inside.

When she opened the box, Whitney was shocked to find seven newborn kittens, abandoned in the middle of the forest. Knowing she couldn’t leave them, Whitney and Banner took the kittens home, nursing them back to health.

Banner took on the role of a mom to these kittens, watching over them to ensure they were okay. It took some time, but with the help of this amazing duo, the kittens recovered.

Once they were healthy, Whitney knew she had to find them a more permanent home. She signed them up for adoption, hoping they would find loving families in Georgia.

Although we don’t know exactly what happened to the kittens, it’s safe to assume they all found their new families, thanks to the heroic efforts of Banner and Whitney.
